Gas equipment products specificities

The gas equipment range products are designed to be used with gas burner supply lines. Gas equipment products are used with heating and ventilation systems (HVAC), on gas-fired boilers in multi-dwelling unit buildings, communities, on mass catering cooking appliances, and in the industry. This type of material uses the following gases:

  • methane
  • propane
  • natural gas
  • biogas

Our gas equipment product range covers multiple uses and functionalities:

  • Network sectioning: gas certified ball valves and butterfly valves
  • Intake automatic cutting off in case of failure: automatic solenoid valves and solenoid valves with manual resetting
  • Gas filtration, in order to limit the burners clogging: gas filter
  • Gas expansion, in order to get the gas to the burner operating pressure: pressure-reducing valve with built-in filter
  • Monitoring and maintaining gas pressure inside supply pipes: pressure switch

Our gas equipment's are available in sizes 1/2” to 2” for BSP threaded versions and in sizes DN50 to DN300 for flanged versions. They are to be used on low pressure gas networks such as 360 mbar, 500 mbar, 1 bar, and 6 bar maximum.  Depending on the references, they comply with EN 161, SIL 2, and ATEX standards.

How do the different gas equipment products work?

Solenoid valves

Gas solenoid valves are used to ensure security on gas networks or systems: in case of a voltage drop, they close themselves, thus cutting of the gas supply. There are two types of gas solenoid valves:

  • Automatic gas solenoid valves: in the event of a power failure, these valves shut down automatically so gas supply is cut off downstream. They also automatically unlock and open when the voltage is restored.
  • Manual reset gas solenoid valves: there again, the valves automatically shut down if there is no power. But, unlike the automatic gas solenoid valve, they remain shut. Restarting them requires human intervention.

Gas regulating filters

A gas regulating filter, or direct-acting pressure limiter filter, is a pressure relief device fitted with a filtering device, and used to clean gas from impurities. It is positioned ahead of the regulator, in order to protect the installation downstream. Gas regulating filters are made up of the following elements:

  • Body
  • filter
  • adjustment spring or calibration spring
  • adjustment screw
  • shutter
  • seat

The adjustment spring is gradually compressed using the screw, causing the pressure to raise inside the system.  When the pressure becomes stronger than the mechanical spring force, the shutter opens up, thus letting the gas flow downstream.

Syveco also offer a gas regulating filter with an overflow valve (air-wind): in case of high pressure behind the regulator, this model allows small quantities of gas to flow out.

Gas pressure switches

Gas pressure switches are security devices used on gas burners supply lines. If the pressure in the pipe is different from the set-point pressure, the pressure switch cuts off the supply. This device restarts automatically. It is fitted with a graduated control knob, used to adjust the set-point pressure.

Gas and biogas filters

Gas and biogas filters are used to clean the gas that flows along pipes from dust and debris, thus preventing any obstruction of devices installed on the circuit. The filter cartridge is in 30% fiberglass nylon, and has a 50µm or 10µm filtration rating, depending on diameters. Gaskets seals are resistant to third type gases.

Last, gas and biogas filters are fully removable in order to simplify maintenance and cleaning, and they all comply with the EN 126 European standard for gas devices.
