The
valve meets the design requirements of the EN 13828 standard and the rigorous testing standards of the German DVGW regulation.

✔ Design requirements:
- Resistance to dezincification of copper alloys
- Compliance with specific stainless steel grades (e.g., for the ball)
- Connection requirements
- Ensure the correct closing direction is maintained
- Rotation stops must clearly indicate the positions (open or closed)
- Compliance with internal diameters to ensure full bore flow
✔ Performance requirements:
- Controlled operating torque
- Sealing
- Sealing angle (seat overlap angle on the ball)
✔ Durability tests:
- Torsion tests
- Bending tests
- Mechanical stop tests
- Acoustic tests (Class 1: ≤ 20 dB)
- Endurance tests (cycle requirements)
Our mechanical tests carried out on
valves show results more than twice as high as the requirements of the standard.
The DVGW certification for drinking water is currently in progress.
Principle of the drilled ball
Drilled ball shut-off valves, when in the open position, help prevent water retention zones between the ball and the valve body, which could otherwise promote bacterial growth and limescale build-up.
