The purpose of limit switch boxes

A manually operated valve or a quarter-turn pneumatic actuator can be fitted with a limit switch box. This box makes it possible to view and follow where the valve is, very accurately, thanks to the position indicator. Equipped with inductive contacts, mechanical switches, or detectors, the limit switch box is able to send electrical information to the control board.

The limit switch box: other features

Limit switch boxes also show other technical specificities.

First, they use a universal fixing system, or follow the ISO 5211 F05 standard.

Their notched cams reveal two main advantages: on one hand, they are not sensitive to vibrations, on the other hand, they can be manually adjusted with great precision.

Limit switch boxes can have an IP65 or an IP67 code (International Protection Marking), allowing them to be mounted and used inside as well as outside.

Some models are also ATEX certified (European directive for equipment used in EXplosive ATmospheres): intrinsic safety or anti-explosion for example.

Syveco’s offer

Syveco offers a range of limit switch boxes that are made up of plastic or aluminium, and use three different types of contacts:

  • SPDT mechanical switches;
  • Inductive detectors 3 threads PNP;
  • Inductive detectors 2 threads NO/NC.

The stem or brackets dimension follows the VDI/VDE 3845 standard. Last, depending on each reference IP65 or IP67 code, our limit switch boxes can be used in ambient temperatures ranging from -20 °C up to +80 °C.
